I wrote this after I had had a bad nights sleep. |
| I open my eyes in the grey of dark! Paralysed, unable to move, fear starts To invade my senses, branding its mark Upon my conscience, as my back I arch. Figures stand before me: so vividly I see through my eyelids that which I fear. But I am unable to move, move free From these shackles of woe which I must bear. Soft! A vision now dancing before me, Invitingly pretty in the half-light. To and fro, this sight, waltzing merrily With the beat of my heart, eases my fright. To this I know, and it shall remain clear, To know love is to have knowledge of fear. |
