A funny poem involving Scherazade, the famous storyteller of 1001 Arabian Nights. |
| “The Storyteller” I learned my first façade From Scheherazade Who was inspired by The caliph, the king: “Tell a tale or die.” Well, with so much to lose, How can one refuse To tell tales about everything? Later, when they’re older, I imagine her bolder, And always with a steady reply. To his, “Where have you been?” She’d say, “Shopping again.” It was he who taught her to lie. |
