Why Have YOU Abandoned ME?

Why have YOU abandoned ME?
ME, who always has and will,
Love you more than anything?
Why have you cast ME out of your heart,
And replaced ME with what never has or can,
Ever love you back again?

Pleasures; riches; things; all of these
Shall pass away, for they are but hollow, worldly needs,
Yet you have turned to them instead of ME.
Someone who loved you before you were ever born.
Someone who cares more for you, than for all the
Treasures of this world.

Who once gave to you a gift precious beyond measure,
Which opens gates once shut forever, so you could enter in.
And I long to give you this gift once again.
For it is MINE to give and salvation comes with it
For those willing to believe, like you once did, before you
Abandoned me to give your love to other things.

So again, I ask you why YOU have abandoned ME?
ME, who always has and will love you more than anything.
ME, who gave MY LIFE to save you
From the sins you now give in to.
ME, who is still the CHRIST and who offers still
The gift of – life.
