His love made me whole

A love that truly set me free

Once upon a distant horizon
in a world that feels so far from home
I wandered through desert plains
cold and alone

A prisoner of timidity
I cowered before man and dream
seeking arms stronger than mine
to carry me towards my destiny

But no man could rescue me
despite how powerful his love proved to be
it was solely the love of my dear Saviour
that enabled me to be free

I told Him of my sinfulness
He washed it away to reveal the depths of love
I told Him of my unworthiness
He revealed the mercy and grace of God

He reached beyond my insecurities
silencing all that kept me a prisoner of my own soul
Gave me peace to be myself
when His love made me whole

Now here deep inside of me
where no man's eye can see
I've found the desire to be myself
and with it there comes peace

No more will I bow to voices of old
as they damn and try to control
rather I step deeper into me
and celebrate the passion stirring in my soul

No more running from who I am
no denying all that makes me ME
for in these depths, where God and I met
His love has truly set me free
