I believed almost every spoken word

There he was so charming with words smooth as silk.
I believed almost every word that fell from his lips.
Even when he said I love everything about you,
Your hair, you eyes, and the way you sway your hips.

Because his word was his bond,
I believed almost every spoken word.
When he said I'm here I'm not going anywhere.
I should have known all that chit-chat was absurd.

As he mesmerized me with his voice
I noticed somethings were unclear.
The words lacked clarity and visibility
They were as vapor suspended in the air.
