Lost In The Dark

A poem I wrote in high school. It's dark.

Lost in the dark

With lonely shadows

Just lonely shadows

Creeping alone in corners

Following all who are lost

In the dark

Taunting

Dark shadows

Lost, lonely souls

In the cold darkness

Sulking with the shadows

Shadows wrapping

Around their lonely friend

In the dark shadows

Their scared, lonely, terrified friend

In the dark shadows of the night

Trying to hide from all harm

Hurting pain

Shadows cannot protect

Painful memories in my mind

Dark shadows cannot end the fear in my heart.
