beat of the drums

This was actually a freewrite from my creative writing class and the topic was drums.

I hear
a silent drum
deep inside me
inside my soul
growing stronger
pounding to the pace
of my beating heart
faster, faster
as i dance
dance to the beat of my soul
mind blank
heart flowing
as i lose myself
to the beat of the song
as the drums
grow louder and louder
with every step i take
every breath
that flows out
my soul
grows stronger
takes over
until nothing is left
except me
and the dance floor
