An elderly lady taking a walk in the rain. |
| As Mrs. Perkins walked down the wet and dreary main street, horse-driven cabs passed by. The wheels squeaked softly and water splashed out of the puddles the cabs crept through. It was a fine day to be in such a cab for it had been raining on and off all day. In fact, the rain pattern was so pecular, Mrs. Perkins kept her umbrella open when it wasn't raining in case the rain would start up again. Mrs. Perkins watched as the cabs pulled to the side of the street to pick up a new customer. Perfect weather for a cab indeed, Mrs. Perkins thought to herself. As if reading her mind, the driver for one of the cabs pulled up to the sidewalk next to her and asked her in a polite manner if she would like a ride. Mrs. Perkins only smiled and told him gently, "Though it is the perfect weather to be needing a cab, I myself think a walk will do me just fine." With that she strolled off humming. |
