A poem for my father |
| father and son. Fear not father do not distress, your life’s wisdom steers me best My father did once say to me son I give my words to thee Treat them well and with respect But dare not treat them with neglect A wiser man my dad is he Yet still he did bestow on me The gift of choice both wrong and right I use this as my guiding light Some choices I have made were wrong His wisdom helps me move along He lets me choose my way in life yet guides me when there is no light a prouder son I could not be In times of trouble, pain or glee My fathers wisdom speaks to me it guides me when I fear I’m lost It takes me to a peaceful spot A place that is both calm and free For he was once here just like me I listen for him in this space at times when life seems out of place I hear his words they guide me through so dad I write these words for you to let you know that yours get through. |
