A drink for a brighter day

Alcohol is a dose of ignorance. An entry for the 55word story comptetition.

“Gimme something old men drink in movies when they’re sad.”

The bartender answered him only with an unamused look, grabbed a bottle and handed him a glass.

And as John swallowed the green liquid he could feel the alcohol breed ignorance into his mind, temporarily covering his sadness and pain. And the day seemed brighter.
