Written for a Writer's Cramp contest |
| Written to the prompt: Write a story or poem involving two zombies in love. ZOMBIE DESIRE (20 lines) It’s only in the darkest hour, The desolate cry of night, When blackness clings to shadows Before the coming light That in unholy union We shed our wretched lot, Pretend that we are living, Forget what death has wrought. We come together slowly With tenderness and pain, Longing for just one more chance To stoke our souls again. With fingertips unfeeling And lips long lost of lust, Hips laid bare to flesh and bone And memory’s faintest thrust, We struggle in each other’s arms Grapple in a desperate clutch Not for the fire of love itself But for its sacred touch ~~ * ~~~ * ~~~ * ~~~ * ~~~ * ~~~ Thank you for reading this piece.
