The Swarm

The swarm was now moving across the field.

I saw the children tumbling on the ground.
I heard the shouts from people all around.

The past wounds of the young were still unhealed;
the swarm was now moving across the field.

Adults were yelling with all of their might;
their children appeared to be in a fight.

There was kicking and elbows were flying
and a young boy lay on the ground crying.

I saw a mom and dad begin to scream;
their five-year-old scored for the soccer team.
