Kari, unable to remember anything before the age of twelve, moves with her adopted father, Daniel, to small-town New Hampshire. She gets attacked by a vampire her first day there and finds herself in the middle of a world of magic and mythical creatures. She tries to find her place in this strange place, bonding with a misfit group of vampire hunters led by Steven, a druid friend of Daniel. But when the mysterious Michael appears spouting news of a prophecy predicting the deaths of many people with Kari in the center of it all, she begins to wonder if her forgotten past and a dream of a strange man and a scene of blood and carnage have any connection to Michael's prophecy. Can she discover the secrets of her past before it's too late?
