I Miss

New poem I wrote recently after a dream...Thanks for reading

I miss your kisses,
Fingertips on the bottom of my lips and
The coconut smell of your hands,
Like you just spent all day in the sand.

I miss your hugs
followed by your soft belly rubs
my heart is beginning to break
setting the table
with only one dinner plate

I miss your smile
And the dimples on your cheeks
The sound of your giggle
Left me happy for weeks

But…
Most of all I miss you
Lying beside me in bed
Resting your head on my shoulder
Arm stretched across my chest
When you were here with me,
I was my best

I gape through the ceiling,
and hope heaven’s treating you right
My tears hit the pillow
my eyes close tonight
