Sweet Dreams

When I wanted to be a kid again ..

Humming the lyrics
Of his favourite song
He ran through
The noisy neighbourhood
Raced with the shining stream
Played with rabbits and squirrels
Talked to the cave about
Being the king of the world
And then owning
All the world-best chocolates
Turned to the daisies
Admired their beauty
Then plucked the best of them
Sat on the big rock
Looked up at the big blue sky
Promised he would soon
Paint it with bright stars
Lifted the caterpillar
Stared at it in wonder
Carefully placed it
Upon the big leaf
Jumped over the fence
And lay on the green bed
Blanketed with flowers
The birds sung the lullaby
Lost in his dreams
Till it was time for him
To wake up
And go to school again.
