two hearts rent from their unison



A lonely mind yearns for company

thinking thoughts of winter and sleep

remembering summery days and warm nights



dry tears stream down a broken facade

a hurricane hidden within folds of hope

invisible to all but one



this heart beats only by memory

hoping for a future once more

dominated by a resonating longing

echoes of laughter fading into the past
