A new start for the new year - bury the negative and live the positive

The New Year


The year just passed is a good place to bury
all my failures and regrets.
I'm tossing them all in a far away cemetery,
under headstones that time forgets.

I want the weeds to choke my disappointments
and lock them in graves neglected.
And shovel all my bitterness deep in the earth,
covered, and forever rejected.
