Knight's Devotion

What a knight must give up when he fights for what he believes in.

As a new day dawns I stand alone,
No souls nearby as I'm to atone,
My crimes I've commited on a world I love,
I try to repent for he who watches above...

Of body and mind I show the world who I am,
Not a restless follower of a blind kingsman,
For I serve myself noone else besides me,
I am a knight sworn only to duty and fealty...

Sword clenched in hand I push forward not back,
My enemies rush towards my country a relentless attack,
I will cut them down and save this my beloved place,
But I know in the end I`ll die leaving no trace...

Of my earthly connection my body and life,
Shall be only a memory of yesterdays strife,
For I`m a loyal servant only to my people,
In rememberance I ask not to rest under-steeple...

For he did not save me he didn`t help in the end,
I speak not of the king but of he who can supposedly mend,
Everything we`ve done wrong with our world our lives our sins,
He left me in my darkest hour only to leave a memory and my kin...
