The Truest Feeling

A poem of how love has changed meanings

Love has become a cliche,
An overused term
that no longer has meaning.
I blame him for tarnishing
the only word I believed in;
The only thing I ever felt.
But he took it and twisted it
and made me believe
that it wasn't real.
I also blame him for ruining
the sacred thing I had
to hold onto.
No one will ever know
the feelings that overcame me
in the past two years.
No one will know the secrets
love holds
Inside two peoples hearts,
and how it corrupts the mind..
Unless it's the truest love
That exists.
