My Blessing

Just when I thought I lost all hope, I got what I undeniably longed for!!

"Unbelievable"!! I always hear
when I tell this tale of mine
and even when I try to make it clear,
they always say its a lie.

The story that seems so untrue to me,
though everyday I'm glad its real,
Ten years without a mum, some wouldn't survive,
but to return after all this time really creates a strike.

Destiny always seemed to be in my favor
my whole life pre-ordained and waiting for me to explore
this most significant event marked that I'm a treasure.
and despite all odds, everyone could get a chance

What else could I want better than being given the privilege to look up to  a female figure that is actually my mum?
To see the smiles on the faces of my sisters as they see a more matured female to look up to than me?
To see the deep pleasure in the eyes of my dad at having a true companion?

Unbelievable you might say, I thought so too when I thought I'll never have the opportunity that other children relish.
Now I think I could give anything up for the pleasure that I now enjoy!!
