A recollection |
| Oh! All the merry days, Which are no more; When you were there, To heal my sore. Now, life is nothing but a bore! Oh! All the merry days, Which were not shrouded by fears; When you were there, To rub off my tears; Oh! Gone are the days when I held you so dear! Oh! All the merry days, Which I recollect this night; Were so happy and gay, And oh! so bright! But sadly they are out of sight! Oh! All the merry days, When love was everywhere; Only your name I could say, For only you did I care. And all your burdens my heart did bear. Oh! All the merry days, When grief seemed unknown; There was no dismay, I never knew when the wild wind had blown. Despair creeped in and those days were gone! |
