This is about the price any soldier could pay. Please be respectful when you r/r it.

(This is 22, no, 26, lines long, all about the price that a soldier pays to keep this country safe. I cried as I wrote it.)

To keep this country free

As I became someone I shouldn't be

As my friends lay dying

As I laid there bleeding

As I remember what I did

As I'm just a kid

All to keep my brother safe

Keep my medals in a safe

Oh the cost I've paid
As my eyes closed

Oh the cost I've paid
As I laid there, dead

Oh I paid the cost
I paid the cost, the cost of freedom
