A REASON TO LIVE

Sometimes we really do need a reason -

A REASON TO LIVE

There has to be a reason to live
but the "why" escapes me now.
The night is dark and so quiet,
I know I must go on - but how?

When dreams are torn apart with
no hope for better days to come,
I am lost in the midst of turmoil
and there is nothing to be done.

Prayers seem to go unanswered
and the devil is dancing with glee.
I have to find the reason for living
or there will be nothing left of me.

God in His Mercy sent his Son
to free us from our sin on earth,
I have to turn to Him who cares
and realize what my life is worth.

But tonight is dark and lonely
and temptation is close at hand.
There is no way to erase the fear
of the feelings I don't understand.

There has to be a reason to live
