Who Am I Lord: A Prayer

Remember Christ Everyday

Who am I Lord?
Why do I deserve Your Grace?
Was I not responsible?
Did I not kiss You in the Garden?
Did I not beat You and break Your bones?
It was me Lord who pushed that
Crown of Thorns down on your swollen face.
Was it not I who drove spikes into Your hands And feet?
Did I Not pierce Your side with my spear?
Did I not spit upon You
and mock You as you were near death?
Was it not I who slaughtered your children?
Did I not lead more of them away, only to be lost forever?
Was it not I Lord who murdered tens of thousands
through war and neglect?
I am responsible for these crimes my Lord. My God.
I am the Betrayer. The worm that eats at the Human Spirit.
But, through the blood I forced from Your Body
I’ve asked for, and received Your forgiveness.
Through Your Grace I have found solace.
The Price I charged You, was steep indeed.
Yet you paid it anyway.
I have a place in the Heart that bled for me.
Let me be worth Your Sacrifice.
