Young Lovers

My first poem in a long time. Can also be called 'Forever In a Moment'.

We dance in the moonlight,
Leaping our lovers gaze,
To the others.
Teasing, flaunting. Ha.
We can boast.
We can throw out our arms
In public, proclaim forever
Like a moment gone by.
And we won’t blush.
We’ve earned this title.
There is no ‘I’,
And we’ll never let them forget.
Siamese, we link arms,
Hold hands.
Throw my arm around your waist.
Your wrist dangling from my shoulder.
We’ll draw gazes
Smoke jealousy the drug,
While they hope our lungs will burst.
Envy, I love you.
This will not last,
A truth we acknowledge,
So we proclaim forever in a moment,
And hope a moment can be forever.
