Special Gift

Lord, I lift my soul up to you,
all that I am
all that I'll ever be.

Because of this special gift you gave to me.

I was lost in a world with
no purpose, no meaning,
Life seemed like nothing more than
a place worth leaving.

Searching my heart,
Searching my soul,
Searching for peace
before I grew weak and old.

You came to me,
You opened my heart of stone,
You gave me the gift of your son,
I felt the warmth of His freedom,
entering my soul.

No longer a victim, or
a statistic of suicide,

I have meaning and purpose
I am so glad to be alive.
