Those Three Words

After reading the poem, it is self-explanitory. Please comment! I hope you like it!

When those three words
escaped your lips,
I held my breath,
my heartbeats skipped.

I couldn't think
of what to say,
but didn't want
to turn away.

And so, I stared
into your eyes.
My lips trembled,
and then, I cried.

You held my hand,
but left the tear.
You leaned in close,
breathed in my ear...

"I hate you."
