Second of a series of love poems for Maria |
| Polynesia Kiss A sweet amberris whisper Cast over the sparkling shells The calm of a faraway islet dream Lost in a molten sunrise reverie with you I wonder... When will I see you here? A blossom unfolds in the sudden dawn At once beautiful and mysterious As I taste its nectar secret So soft, sweet, sensual I often ponder... When will I touch you there? A cool, listless afternoon Just before the surf recedes I see her sparkling eyes A mermaid lost in a sea-blue belly dance Oh, I wonder If you're really there? A palm-adorned sunset Risen over the volcanic peaks of a nameless realm So lush and forgotten her songbird tides Pearls, coral, turtle cove and lagoons Oh, tell me... Am I chasing a mirage? No, don't tell me yet I'll just bathe awhile longer in your smile. _________________________ Poems in the series so far: "Come With Me" "Polynesia Kiss" "Rainbow Moon" "If Only" "Sunrise!!" |
