Sitting here watching the news on TV
I feel depression come over me
All I see is people getting shot up
Whether it’s in Iraq or on the block
I can’t stand the thought of a child loosing a parent
Or a parent losing a child
War and violence is barbaric and wild
I turn the channel just to see more depressing news
People find it important to know who’s dating Tom Cruise.
What about our everyday fights and us normal people
What about the hood rat who stayed up studying all night
What about the crack addict who finally quit
What about the 16 year old mother who paid her rent
