Sleep lightly

Darkness abounds.
Nary a sound
is found.

Light hides,
from our eyes,
and our minds.

It's real.
The pain you feel
when they steal
your heart and your mind,
and when you find
that one is never kind.

You see
there is no you and me,
it is but a fantasy.

Hold on tight
with all your might.
Sleep tight
through the fright,
through the night,
it's such a sight
when you put up a fight
but it feels oh so right.
