futility of it all

Man has won this land
Once twice and many times over
Up above the world
He just laughs
At the naiveté of his gains

Man has walked this land
Once twice and many times over
But he has never learnt his lesson
The ill of which he bears

Man has made his mistakes
Once twice and many times over
But he just keeps believing
That it could never happen again

Man has written this word
Once twice and many times over
Perhaps only to realize
He is just being there and doing that again!
