Losing a part or all of yourself to another...

Former Life

I bleed secrets
to you and speak
in a broken voice

Your laugh pierces joy,
and lingers like
liquid breath surrounding a fresh kill

I remember the cold air
seeping into my belly…
steel words cutting me…
         (poison lips lie)

My life decays…
You haunt me always
I am blind…naked…
         Never free, only a prisoner

A ghost of myself
