What He Was Looking For

this is about a guy that wanted what he knew he couldn't have... me

He glanced at me
I looked his way
took a double take
then walked away

he followed me
I turned and stayed
his voice so soft
he said "please don't leave me astray"

my eyes filled with tears
and taking his hands in mine
replying I said "It's finally time"

"I loved you" he said
"No you didn't!" I glared
"You wanted what everyone else wanted!"
then he just stared

His brown eyes looking deep into my blue
pulling a cigarette out
he asked me the question
"Are we officially through?"

"We were never more than friends,
at one time I wished we were more,
but it turns out you're just looking,
for two legs, a hole and what people call a whore"
