Land of Dreams

A poem to help me decide on whether I should go to bed or not.

To stay or to sleep
To do one is to negate the other

To stay is to live
Not always for the moment
But never for the past
But yet never looking ahead
Just lurking towards the next day
Until the fall now the future is upon us

To sleep is to give in
And to think
Thinking in the land of dreams
Where nothing is real
But it all happens for a reason
To never bother me
I am in my season

To walk or to run
Observing the current
Yet making it the past
Faster than I can imagine
But in my world of dreams
Where nothing is real
I can think clearly
And see distantly
Into tomorrow

The words in my future
They say everything
But tell me of nothing
In my best interests
But against my will
It was for the best

To stay or to sleep
To stay is to live
To sleep is to give in
The future will be here tomorrow
Whether I live or don't
I will stay
