"This is horrible," the rookie cop grimaced. 
"I’ve seen worse," the sergeant said.
"Sure, but..."
"Look, by this afternoon you'll have forgotten it." 
The rookie sighed. "I don’t know." He used his foot to scrape soggy donuts back into the box lying in the puddle, picked up the box and threw it in the trash.
