My life's on hold.Why does everyone else still enjoy the world when mine's been shattered?

The sun came up today. And then the rain poured down.
I longed for you today, but you were not around.
I walked alone today, and wished for lapse of thoughts
I reached for you today, but see me, you did not.

The day went on, the world still turned, and people drove their cars
They laugh and sing and dance and drink up life under the stars
But I've stopped and waited with breath abated for you to join the race
The sun won't shine, the fog won't clear, til you retake your place.
