poem i wrote a long time ago

As I walked through this place
my knees began to tremble,
my heart started to ache
as I clenched on with sweaty palms.
the rush overtook me
and I was gone
only the mere image of me was still fighting
I reached back into the gripping times of my soul
and found strength hidden in the depths within,
with help I fought 
I held my ground and gained control
and was brought to my state
of almost well being
where I now reside.
