Dark Tangled Forest

Wisdom sought out in nature
A visceral thirst in a tangible world
Explosions of thought as ideas connect
Like ethereal cosmic collisions

Leaves of wine and amber flow
And swirl around my feet
I search for things one cannot know
An end I’ll never meet

Crunching foliage underfoot
From shade to a shroud for the cold, dead ground
The crackle of thunder up above
As worms churn and revive the earth

The struggle of the seasons
Unending loops of life
The orbits of all planets
Elliptic electron strife

Stems and roots on woodland floor
Dendritic arms stretch into synaptic soil
Leaves extend and catch the dew
Holding ecosystems in their palms

Amidst the chaos lies an order
But it is ever-changing
We reach out and try to grasp it
As it’s shifting and rearranging

Much knowledge sits within our sight
The rest lies obscured in the infinite darkness
Countless truths in a boundless existence
Waiting to be discovered

Tangles of the forest
Tangles of the mind
A microcosm of the quest
To bring the stars aligned
