How I wish I didn’t hurt you,
That you could forgive me
That you and I didn’t let
Our personal issues
Get in the way of
Us being together.
How I wish.

How I wish you weren’t so
Far away still
That I didn’t break your heart
That I could replace the pain
That I caused you
How I wish that you
And I were still the same.
How I wish.

How I wish you could
Understand how truly sorry
I am that
You and I
Couldn't get past the issues we had.
How I wish that we could
Have cleaned the slate
And started over
Just one more time,
That we didn’t let our
Personal problems
Tear us apart from each other.
How I wish.

How I wish that sometimes
I could still be with you,
And you could be with me.
They say you live and learn
And this much is true but
How I wish oh yes, how I wish.
How I wish I could reverse
The hands of time, but
Maybe it’s for the best,
Maybe love wasn’t
Meant for you and me to
Find, but
How I wish.
