A tribute to one of the most glorious sports ever invented! |
| A tee time reserved for early that day The pair dressed nattily in golf attire Our golf clubs cleaned and ready for play Playing the links is the twosome’s desire. Green fees paid, and a golf cart to drive We now wait for the group ahead For pars and birdies we will strive But too many strokes often hit instead. The greatness of one, swings easy and pure While the other’s a cinch to drive reckless and short Smoothness and distance are quite the allure Quiet and steady is each other’s retort. Wide, spacious grass, with hazards and trees The lush paradise where the course is laid Loving the game with the nice gentle breeze From the strong, fluid swing that’s finally made. The fun and the weather, we often extol Some good or great shots, the best we could get Having a beer at the 19th hole The good or bad round, a joy or regret. |
