My observation of a cherry tree early Spring 2002.

Cherry blossoms -- sachets
strung on a damsel's limbs flung sunward
rain, chocolate diamonds, trickle
from lace-fenced satin petals.
Her open boughs display her dowry
as she basks in champagne rays glowing
like an earthbound cherub.
