An eye opener... |
| LOOKING GLASS Looking back from the glass was a tortured man⦠It wasnāt his wish nor even his plan⦠He chose to live in his days of sorrow⦠Hoping that glory would come tomorrow⦠That day is here and his reflection mocks⦠A presence whispers and softly knocks⦠Staring deeper yet he starts to see⦠A figure of a man, but it is not he⦠The figure asks what is it you seek? A life beyond misery, may I have just a peek? To gaze beyond now is a fools demise⦠But if you need answers stare in my eyes⦠Iāll take you where your answer lies⦠A glimpse he sought as he opened his mind⦠Satanās silhouette peered back from behind⦠He pierced his soul with daggers of doom⦠As the stench of Hell enveloped the room⦠He gagged and puked as he fell from grace⦠Is this what you wanted? Is this the place? He screamed in agony as fire ate his skin⦠Trying to recall his ungodly sin⦠What have I done to deserve this madness? When my only wish was to end my sadness⦠Jehovah asked me to bring you here⦠To let you see, to make it clear⦠The life you have may seem trying⦠But remember this place when you lay dying⦠The misery and pain is only a test⦠For the strong and the faithful shall all be blessed⦠Iāll take you back to your life of regret⦠But this glimpse today may you never forget⦠Doug L. |
