Feelings after a year-long court battle for a divorce.

the road rolled out
daunting, dark
unending twisting
scary and stark

the first steps slow
and hesitating
with panting breath
anticipating

every problem
every negative
every scenario
nothing positive

then, momentum
rushing speed
events surpass
my ability to lead

and catching up
fighting to breathe
making it right
i've no time to grieve

a year gone by
this chapter is done
the road stretches onward
a new chapter begun
