Enjoy a sport like it's your friend,
To bowl means great fun for all -
But how does one get to lane's end
To touch the pins with a curvy ball? 

Bowling has its "safe crackers" -
Players who get the combination,
Of strikes and spares, while other slackers
Like to show off with curve and elation...

Think of all the excitement and flavor
Of striking with a ball that's straight,
And all the spares you'll likely savor
Once you find that your score is great! 

So before you crack the safe of bowling
With a combination of hook and flair,
Did you ever see all the pins they're mauling
Before your hook is even there?!

Try to not impress the people
By bowling with such a big curve -
Oftentimes, it's not too lethal;
A strike's a strike, and what you deserve...
