is what I want for me

Country kind of living

Plain and simple is the way
to write what must be said
for fancy wording does no good
if it cannot be read.

Just as plain as yesterday
my thoughts go back again
to the simple way of living
we lived a way back when.

Back when everyone we knew
was simple just like us
and we expected other folk
to act like who they was.

That country kind of living
as simple as can be
will always be the way of life
that I would want for me.

is simply to be said
but a filling of one's pages
with words that can be read.
