A Poem for Danny

Oh Danny why did you have to die?
Is it because of President Bush's lie?
Oh how we felt the pain
When we learned your innocent heart was slain,
For all of us you stood up and fought
Despite the fear you must have thought
Oh how I wish I could have been there to comfort you
When the war had you tired, wounded, and blue
Destiny had already sealed your fate
In a world so full of hate
Through it all you stood so true
And always believed in the red, white, and blue
Because of you I am able to rest at night
Rest assured your protection calms my fright
So now you may rest and stand at ease
You will be that angel blowing in the breeze
