Here is to You & Me

Requested by someone that wanted to renew their vows.

They say, to have and to hold
Well, I don't need to be told
That you are my gold
And only your warmth will distance the cold

They also say, for better or for worse
Well, I say we don't need to converse
'Cause baby, you and I have the verse
For all times no matter how adverse

I meant it when I said, for richer or for poorer
In sickness and in health
And more than anything and always, to love and cherish
Both our home and each other until death do us part

It only seemed like yesterday when we uttered these very words.
Words that have been passed down from generation to generation,
You know I would do anything for you without the slightest hesitation.

They say "for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
I say, YOU are my greatest treasure, one that I'll never be without.  My heart bleeds and tears only when you're not around.

Looking into your eyes and seeing your smile, God only knows what would happen if this connection was to sever.
For you and me, this is not a beginning but a continuation to forever.
