Bounce Around

You see me
you talk about me
you say I bounce around.

But you don't know
how hard it is
to cry and muffle the sound.

I cover my ears.
I close my eyes.
I cry away, another bad lie.

I run scared
I run searching,
to the arms of another guy.

I find one; he tells me my past is wrong
I didn't deserve what they'd all done.
And now I've fallen hard for him; in turn he says I am not the one.

So I bounce back
run to my next prince,
who decided I'd play the role of the girl, adding another bad lie to my list.
