THE GENIUS AND THE FOOL

Who is the genius and who is the fool?

I found a genius
lost in a forest of words
feeding the birds
weird noises.

I found a genius
drowning in a sea of sounds
watched him going round
in circles.

He found a fool
paddling by in a boat
who hit the right note
to save him

For sweet knowledge
it may bring you power
but it can swallow you up
and when you're devoured
it's hard to relate
to the world in this state.

You were so far offshore,
forgot what words are for,
feeding the birds
weird noises.
