Another of my best poems, this is about my father and all who love theirs as well.... |
| My Wisdom's Pride In the dense cave from which I stand I see nothing but a black hole with no plan I am sometimes lost and full of dread I cannot sleep or eat fine bread It seems that one end leads to another I feel a need to crumble and hide Leaving everything including my pride But from the edge of potential doom Comes hope that makes my breaking heart bloom It is the crack beneath the rock A simple light to guide my path From it comes a wondering bat It stalks me like a piece of bait Leading me into my dreadful fate But as I see the light full as the moon Round and circular like a cocoon The wisdom of a wolf prowls to defense Who tears the bat with fangs so tense He comes to my side to comfort thee With triumph we both flee beyond the trees To one day reach the sea of dreams With my mentor, my wisdom's pride, my friend, My one and only father. |
